The Labor Offices of the Philippine Consulate General and Philippine Embassy in Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively reminds Overseas Filipinos Workers (OFWs), who are vacationing in the Philippines and returning to the same employer in the UAE, to secure a POEA travel exit clearance in order to be allowed to leave the Philippines.
OFWs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates who prefer to get the OEC from POLO-OWWA in Dubai or Abu Dhabi must meet the following requirements:
1. Personal appearance of OFW-applicant;
2. Original passport and stamped visa;
3. Accomplished information sheet (available in POLO-OWWA and from the Samahang Pinoy Kawanggawa website: OFW ADVISORIES / OEC CERTIFICATE);
4. PAG-IBIG Membership for a minimum of AED10.00 (mandatory coverage per RA 9679 or the Home Development Mutual Fund Law which took effect on 27 August 2009);
5. OWWA Membership for AED92.00 (payment valid per contract duration at a maximum of 2 years);
6. OEC Processing fee of AED10.00;
7. For Household Service Workers, in addition to the above:
- Immigration Contract stating a monthly salary of at least US$400
(the Philippine minimum requirement) or its equivalent of AED 1,500,
to be verified by POLO for AED40.00. This will also be presented at
the Philippine Airport Immigration
- Undertaking and Information Sheet signed by the Sponsor (available
from the website)
- Copy of the sponsor’s passport and residence visa
Labor Attaché also informs OFWs that the POEA has restored the validation of the exit clearance at the Labor Assistance Counter (LAC) in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals starting March 1, 2011. Click the attached link for complete info >>> OEC VALIDATION AT POEA-NAIA
The OEC serves as exit pass, as an exemption certificate from payment of travel tax and airport terminal fee, and as a worker’s guarantee that he is covered by government protection and benefits.

It depends on your wife's current status as an overseas individual. If your wife is an OFW, then she can apply for OEC.

Hi Sheng, maaari po kayo kumuha ng OEC sa POEA Ortigas Manila. Ang requirements po ay katulad po ng nakatala sa website na ito. Payong kaibigan lang po, mas maganda kung pumunta kayo ng umaga ng maaga sa POEA para makakuha kayo ng OEC same day.

Hi Virgilio, OEC is valid for 60 days from the date of issue and it can only be used as one time exit pass unless you have applied for a multi exit pass at POEA Manila. OWWA is valid for a year if applied from POEA. Please note that these documents are valid for the current employment status. Any changes in employment, it is a must for an OFW to register and have it documented with POEA or with our POLO-OWWA Office overseas.

First my previous status in OWWA was in SAUDI ARABIA and last October I crossed here in Dubai and I got a job.. I know I need to update my status here as an OFW in UAE.. Do I have to bring my contract or what are the papers that i have to bring in POLO?
I hope i will get a faster reply because i have to take my vacation this coming 8th of May.

Yes, you need to provide copy of the new contract as you need to re-register yourself to update your employment / personal data with our POLO.

Same documents na ginamit ninyo nung mag-apply kayo ng residence visa for your family members. Also, air ticket, if of legal age, affidavit of support & guarantee and as much as possible carry original copies of their birth certificates.

With employment visa on hand, at kung direct hire kayo mula Pilipinas na lalabas ng bansang Pilipinas, kailangan ninyo idaan ang papeles sa POEA.
DeleteAng OEC ay isang travel exit clearance document na ginagamit lamang pag lumabas ng Pilipinas. Depende kung ang OEC na kinuha nyo ay valid for multiple exits.

OEC application can be obtained within an hour provided you have the required documents with you during the application process. OEC is valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

ReplyDeleteTravellers are required to have a valid passport with at least 6months validity. Renewal application is a must. Extension application can be applied provided that you need to submit renewal application thereafter. OEC will only be issued to passport with at least 6months validity.

ReplyDeleteIf passport has a validity of 6months and above on the date of travel, yes, your friend can obtain OEC. If the passport validity on the date of travel (regardless if it is outbound or inbound travel) is less than 6months, your friend can obtain a special request of passport extension from our embassy / consulate to issue travel clearance. Your friend need to present the passport renewal application when obtaining passport extension request.

ReplyDeleteAng OEC ay valid for 60 days from the date of issue. I would suggest to apply OEC in the Philippines as there are many options now where you can apply OEC.
